Just a quick post before Master Gardener College 2014 officially begins.
I’ve been here since Wednesday for Advanced Master Gardener training in Land Stewardship, and yesterday we went out to Craig County, VA to some national forest land where they routinely conduct controlled burns to improve the land and the wildlife. More on that in another post.
I enjoyed my first Huckleberry, along with some of the teeniest, sweetest blueberries! These grow wild and are part of the succession of plants that naturally spring up after a fire in these woods.
More to come—college is starting!
